This is a tour to discover the beautiful landscape and legendary traditions in two of the remotest areas of Romania: Maramures, home to the famous wooden churches and Bucovina with its painted Monasteries.
22:30 → Departure by train (sleeping coach, first class) from Bucharest at 23:30.
Overnight: Train – sleeping coach, first class | Meals: –
05:46 → Arrival to Suceava at 05:46.
→ Meet the driver/guide who will transfer you to the city.
06:30 → Breakfast in a restaurant in Suceava.
07:30 → Full day trip by car / minivan with driver/guide to discover the Painted Monasteries from Bucovina.
All day → You will visit the Monasteries: Sucevita, Moldovita, Humor and Voronet (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
→ You will have free time for lunch at a pension in the area of the monasteries.
17:30 → Return to Suceava.
Overnight: Suceava at Hotel Continental Forum 3* | Meals: breakfast
08:00 → Departure from Suceava to Maramures area.
→ Admire on the way the picturesque houses in Ciocanesti.
12:30 → Arrival in Ieud where you shall have a traditional lunch at a local pension.
14:30 → Visit of the Church on the Hill, the oldest wooden church from Maramures (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
15:30 → Visit the local Ethnographic Museum, then depart to Sighetul Marmatiei.
17:30 → Arrival at your hotel.
22:30 → Overnight: Sighetul Marmatiei at Pension Casa Iurca 4* | Meals: breakfast, lunch
08:00 → Visit a local market where villagers from the area sell their products, then departure to Sapanta.
10:00 → Visit the Merry Cemetery, world-famous for the colorfully adorned crosses.
11:30 → Visit Ellie Wiesel Memorial House, then free time for lunch.
14:00 → Departure to Baia Mare.
15:00 → Visit on the way the Desesti World Heritage Church.
17:00 → Arrival in Baia Mare and transfer to the train station.
17:52 → Departure to Bucharest by train (sleeping coach, first class).

06:20 → Arrival to Bucharest at 06:20.
→ Transfer to the hotel. End of the tour.
