What to Expect

An extensive trip for Dracula fans! Beside the well visited birth places like Sighisoara, the birthplace, Snagov, where it is is presumed that Dracula is buried, or Bran castle, known as Dracula’s castle, this tour will take you off the beaten tracks; you shall visit of the real fortress, Poienari, as well as the village with a rich history related to Vlad. Your trip will take you to see the Princely Court in Targoviste where he spent a part of his life, and end in Snagov, which is the presumed that he was buried.

  • *Note: The Black Church may be closed on specific religious occations and on Mondays; Sighisoara Clock Tower and the Church on the Hill are closed on Mondays. Peles castle is closed on Mondays, and on Tuesdays between 14th of Sept-15th of May, when you shall visit Rasnov Fortress instead of Peles castle.

Day 1Bucharest - Târgoviște - Arefu

08.00 → Pick up from your hotel in Bucharest and depart in private car.
10.30 → Sight seeing of Targoviste. Visit the ruins of the Princeley Court in Targoviste, where Vlad Tepes spent a part of his life. Depart then to Arefu Village.
13.00 → Visit Arefu Village. Lunch at a local family with typical Romanian dishes, and listen to legends of Dracula. Lunch
PM → Dinner in Poenari.

Day 2Poenari - Sibiu - Sighisoara

08.00 → Departure to Poenari Fortress. This is the fortress where Vlad Tepes (the impaler) lived for some years. This place is the theater for many dark stories….After climbing the 1350 stairs the view of the valley is breathtaking!
Lunch at a local restaurant, then depart to Sibiu.
Short walking Sightseeing tour of Sibiu.
Dinner by candlelight in Dracula’s birthplace.

Day 3Sighisoara - Brasov

08.30 → Sightseeing of Sighisoara. Visit the World Heritage citadel, with a stroll under the School Staircase on their way leading you to the Church on the Hill. Departure then to Bran Castle.
Lunch at a local restaurant, then departure to Brasov. Visit Bran Castle, the famous castle known to be linked to Dracula.
17.00 → Arrival in Brasov.

Overnight: Brasov | Meals: – Lunch Dinner

Day 4Brașov - Snagov - Bucharest

08.00 → Sight seeing of Brasov. Visit of medieval city of Brasov. The Black Church, entry. See main square of the city.
Lunch on the way, then visit Snagov Monastery. Snagov is presumed to be the place were Vlad Tepes’s burial place is. You shall visit the beautiful small church.
16.00 → Departure back to Bucharest.
